La Rocca

La Rocca’s large garden stretches out over 11,000 square metres, and includes almond trees, local Mediterranean scrub brush and aromatic herbs, and over 100 olive trees. Tranquility reigns in this oasis of Puglian flora. The gardens have been sympathetically designed with drystone walls and natural materials. You’ll never want to leave this little corner of paradise. 

The large terrace is next to the villa. This area has some tables and chairs, and is reached via a stone staircase from the parking area. From here you can gaze out over the countryside and feel like you are in another world. 

The saltwater infinity pool area is set above the villa, offering the best panoramic views around. Cool off in the pool, taking in the sights and scents of the olive and almond trees below. There are sunloungers and umbrellas around the pool where you can soak up the sun.

The garden also has shady spots to sit in, perhaps with a good book, or to enjoy an evening aperitivo with friends. 

La Rocca’s simple and traditional style seamlessly blends with modern comfort. The neutral tones, stone arches, vaulted ceilings, and the use of natural materials creates a relaxed, chic environment that will make you feel at home as soon as you enter the villa. 

From the terrace enter into the bright living area. Furnished with comfortable sofas and a glass table, this luminous space immediately welcomes you into this outstanding villa. The wine cellar is located underneath the living area, and is visible through glass flooring. Over 100 Puglian wines are found in the cellar, adding a real Puglian flavour to the property. From here you can also reach the inner courtyard that’s a haven of relaxation and sunshine. 

The kitchen has its own entrance from the terrace. Fully equipped with top-quality kitchen appliances – including an induction hob – the kitchen has all you need to cook delicious meals using local produce. There’s also a handy pantry for storage, as well as a guest toilet in this area.

La Rocca has nine bedrooms. Each one is beautifully furnished and feature comfortable beds, as well as traditional touches such as stone vaults and wooden beams. All bedrooms have double beds with their own, poetic names. The bathrooms are equally designed with care and attention, using the highest quality products and natural materials. 

Roccia has a living area with a three-seater sofa and an ensuite bathroom with shower. This double bedroom can be reached from the living room or directly from the terrace. 

Terra can be reached from the terrace and has its own living area. The ensuite bathroom has a shower.

Acqua has a beautiful balaquin double bed that really makes a statement, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a shower, and private access from the terrace. 

Ottone has private access from the terrace as well as directly from the living area. Its ensuite bathroom has a shower and a four-person heated jacuzzi that really adds a touch of luxury. 

Grano is accessible via the kitchen. It has its own bathroom with a shower along the hallway, that can also be used by other guests. 

There are two other bedrooms - Argilla and Calce - that can be considered a quadruple suite. The two rooms with double beds interconnect and share a bathroom, making them ideal for a family. Argilla has private access from the terrace. Calce is on a slightly lower level than the ground floor and is accessed via an internal staircase. Either room can be used as an autonomous double bedroom without being connected to the other.  

Fieno has a private entrance and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. 

Aria is on the upper level of the villa. This bedroom has a bathroom with a shower, and can be reached by a path cut out from the rock. The private terrace makes this bedroom really special and ideal for a couple looking for a bit more privacy. 

The Valle d’Itria is easy to explore from La Rocca. This villa proves to be the perfect starting point to get to know this beautiful part of Puglia. 

Ostuni is the closest town to villa La Rocca. A UNESCO-recognised town thanks to its beautiful white buildings, Ostuni is worth visiting. Stroll through the streets and soak up the atmosphere, and stop off at one of the local restaurants and try the typical dishes. 

The other towns of the Valle d’Itria should be missed either. Take a trip to Ceglie Messapica, Locorotondo, Cisternino, and Martina Franca. Each one is beautiful, and has so much to offer including great bars and restaurants and boutique shops. 

Alberobello is also not far from La Rocca. This small town is world-famous for the quantity and quality of trulli in the town centre. Visit and marvel at these uniquely Puglian buildings that seem out of a fairy tale. 

If you’re a beach lover then Puglia is for you! La Rocca is close to the Adriatic coast which is littered with beautiful beaches. Torre Guaceto is nearby, and is stunning, as is Torre Canne. Dune Costiere Blue Flag beach is also close and should not be missed. 

As well as historical towns and beautiful beaches, Puglia’s gastronomy should also be explored. Taste the local wines like Primitivo or Negramaro, and make sure you taste the local pasta such as Orecchiette alla cime di rapa!
