From this tranquil area of Puglia’s countryside you can also easily reach some of the most beautiful sights in the Valle d’Itria like Alberobello, as well as Putignano with its incredible Grotta del Trullo. The wonderful beaches of Capitolo di Monopoli are only 30 minutes away by car.
Set in Puglia’s charming countryside, Dimore dei Ciliegi has more that 600 square metres of outdoor space, including a well-kept lawn and local plants such as cherry trees, almond trees, and other fruit trees that create a charming and colourful atmosphere.
The highlight is the large saltwater swimming pool, with no chlorine. The pool can also be heated up to 38° so even during the cooler months you can enjoy a swim in the gorgeous pool. There are sunloungers and umbrellas around the pool where you can relax in the peaceful surroundings.
There is a beautiful pergola next to the pool area which has a bar area, an induction hob, a sink and a fridge. It is furnished with a sofa, armchair, and a table and chairs. It’s the perfect place for a simple meal or an aperitivo during Puglia’s sunny days, or in the evening when the villa’s external lights create a magical setting.
There’s a shower with hot water at the back of the pergola. With all these comforts, a holiday at villa Dimore dei Ciliegi really is best place to enjoy a holiday under the sunny skies in Puglia.
Up to eight guests can stay at Dimore dei Ciliegi. The villa is made of two separate areas that are linked, blending the old architectural style of the trullo, and a more modern area that has recently been built.
The Trullo and the Lamia, traditional Puglian buildings, are the older part of the villa. This space is 60 square metres and is made up of four rooms.
The relaxing living area is in the Lamia and has a comfy sofa, a TV, a dining table and elegant furniture, as well as a stone fireplace that adds authentic character to the room. The mezzanine above this living area has a king size bed and also a single bed.
The evocative Trullo has a sofa bed. The kitchen has everything that you need including an induction hob, a wine fridge, and all electrical appliances and cooking utensils necessary for cooking, just like back at home. There’s a bathroom with a shower and a hydromassage bathtub for two people next to the kitchen.
The newer part of the villa (Ciliegio) is 35 square metres and is linked to the trullo. There’s a comfy double bed, another single bed, as well as a table, stools, and a fridge. There’s also a bathroom with a shower and bidet.
Both parts of the villa are bright and welcoming, and are furnished with a simple and traditional style, with modern touches throughout that add to the villa’s charming character.
Dimore dei Ciliegi is found close to Putignano. This old town has a panoramic position in the Valle d’Itria, and is well-known for its Carnival celebration as well as the incredible Grotta del Trullo. It’s very easy to visit the other famous towns of the Valle d’Itria from here such as Alberobello, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Cisternino.
There are many wonderful beaches in the area, such as Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, as well as the most beautiful beaches like Capitolo, San Vito and Torre Canne.
The Grotte di Castellana should not be missed. These caves have a series of corridors, tunnels, stalactites and stalagmites which go down to 122 metres from the surface. It is one of the most famous caves in all of Italy.
Don’t miss the local area’s food and wine, a true symbol of Puglia’s gastronomy. Farinella is so traditional and is such a part of the area that it has even given its name to a certain type of mask typically worn at Carnival in Putignano. Farinella similar to polenta but is made of ground chickpeas and toasted orzo. It can be added to soups and sauces, and also goes very well with fried lampascioni, typical onions from the regions of Southern Italy.
